I am currently working, on and off, on some shmup prototypes. In the meantime, I've done some experimental forks of Kenta Cho's open-source shooters.
rRootage — a boss-rush shmup where you dodge autocreated bullet patterns. This fork adds a "DR" mode inspired by Drainus: you can deploy an absorption sphere to absorb bullets, then reflect them back at enemies on release. Purple bullets can't be absorbed, carve a path with careful meter management.

TUMIKI Fighters — a 2D shooter where destroyed enemies break into pieces that stick to your ship, making you progressively more powerful. This fork adds improved screen resizing, a "REV mode" with point-blank damage mechanics, level select and boss rush modes. In REV mode, the ship tilt is fixed unless you press the hide button.
